Rockin’ Ribfest Crowns 2024 Cook Off Winners

Drawing hundreds of people to the city park for live music, food and a kids pedal pull, Saturday’s Rockin’ Ribfest served up delectable pork ribs to attendees. Cooked by 13 different teams who competed earlier in the afternoon in a competition, the winners are listed below.

Ribfest Rocks Despite Roasting Temps

A doozy of a heatwave made its way through South Dakota last weekend, just in time to coincide with Rockin’ Ribfest. However hot and humid it was, it didn’t deter crowds as hundreds flocked to city park for the festival at the foothills.  
The Annual Weskota Foundation Walk & Run for Wellness is set to take place August 3 at the Wessington Springs Fire Hall. Registration starts at 7 a.m. and the run starts at 7:30 a.m. Cost is $20 and includes a t-shirt.

On July 3, 2024 the Class of 1953 held their 71st class reunion at the Springs Inn Café.“Carla, as usual took great care of us. We were a class of 48 and now there are 14 of us left,” shared Maureen Hein.

The WSHS class of 1982 celebrated their 42nd class reunion July 19 and 20. The class as a whole sends a huge thank you to the Springs Inn for providing a wonderful meal for the classmates, to Donna Schimke for the tour of the high school and Slippery's for social hour. A good time was had by all.
