Wessington Springs FFA Land Judging Team Finishes Fifth in the Nation

With a longstanding reputation of sending teams-to-contend-with to the National Land and Range Judging Contest in Oklahoma City, this year’s Wessington Springs High School FFA Land Judging Team did not disappoint, bringing hefty titles back home to the South Dakota prairie last week.

True Dakotan Brings Home Four Editorial Awards The South Dakota NewMedia Association announced the winners for entries in its annual contest that recognizes overall quality work in news, editorial, advertising, design, digital and social media.

Beloved Jerauld County Tradition Draws Record Crowd

BY DELIA ATKINSON / TRUE DAKOTAN  The 11th annual Festival of Tables at the Wessington Springs Senior Citizen’s Center was a sold-out event. Due to additional requests for tickets, another table was added to the room, and twelve tables of eight were filled.

As warmer weather draws residents outdoors, spring clean up to-do lists grow lengthy in a hurry. The City of Wessington Springs is planning its Spring Clean Up Day May 13. City employees will pick up tree branches, white goods (appliances), furniture, and carpet.

Gettysburg editor elected to lead state's news media association Molly McRoberts, editor of the Potter County News at Gettysburg, was elected the 138th president of the South Dakota NewsMedia Association (SDNA) during the organization’s annual meeting on April 26 in Huron.
