Fourth annual event continues growing WSHS tradition
The Fourth Annual Drive Your Tractor to School Day was held April 15, bringing a strong turnout and plenty of horsepower to Wessington Springs High School.
The day began with students rolling into the parking lot north of the high school before concluding with a parade through town. From the school, tractors and semis headed east on Second Street toward the elementary school, where younger students gathered to watch the equipment pass by. The route then continued past the nursing home, giving residents a chance to enjoy the rumble, before traveling down Main Street through the business district and south on Dakota Avenue to the American Legion parking lot, where a group photo was taken.
Vo-ag instructor Brady Duxbury called the event “a fun and growing tradition,” noting an “awesome showing” this year. He added with a smile that “red definitely beat out green this year,” and said the tradition will continue.
