Maxwells Tour Scotland with True Dakotan in Tow

Visit to Loch Ness and Historic Urquhart Castle Highlights Journey

Bernie and Cherie Maxwell of Wessington Springs traveled with their True Dakotan on their iPad in Scotland. The photo above is from their day at the Urquhart Castle located on the shores of Loch Ness.

The castle overlooks Loch Ness from the rocky promontory that it dominates and upon which some famous names have set foot.

Once one of Scotland’s largest castles, Urquhart saw great conflict during its 500 years as a medieval fortress. Control of the castle passed back and forth between the Scots and English during the Wars of Independence. The power struggles continued, as the Lords of the Isles regularly raided both castle and glen up until the 1500s.

Has your True Dakotan gone on vacation with you? The paper invites readers to share photographs enjoying their print or digital copy of the True Dakotan in places across the globe.
