Tribute to Jim Burg Dear Editor and readers of the True Dakotan, With the passing of Jim Burg, our community, as well as our state and the nation, has lost a leader, a dedicated public servant and a friend to basically everyone he met.

Darleen wrote her news Monday morning and Delia got it later in the forenoon. It was April Fool’s Day! Darleen enjoyed the roast beef dinner from the Manor kitchen. It snowed most of the day! Tuesday, we had sunshine! Darleen enjoyed the pork dinner and cake from the Manor kitchen.

Thankful for amazing garbage crew To the Editor: Can we just take a minute to talk about how amazing our garbage crew is? And maybe it’s just me and I’m completely fine with it. But they go above and beyond every single week for us.

As I write my Cuppy’s Corner News this Monday morning, we are having a blizzard! Last Monday Delia got my news and said it was a cold day. Marlys Shryock visited me Monday afternoon. Later I was happy Reina Peterson Ford stopped in to visit awhile too. Tuesday was a quiet day.

Senior Center Moments

The Wessington Springs Senior Citizen’s Center had a meeting on March 11, 2024. March 3rd bingo was played, and a soup supper was enjoyed by many members of the community. If you missed out on that fun afternoon, there is another opportunity to enjoy playing bingo on Sunday, April 7 from 2-4 p.m.

To the editor: It’s hard to fully express how much we enjoyed this year’s Spartan basketball team. Coach Huether and his staff, the players and cheerleaders all represented themselves and their community with perfection throughout the entire season.
