On Friday morning, some members of the Spartans Track & Field team traveled to Sioux Falls to participate in the 99th Annual Howard Wood Dakota Relays. Alyssa Grohs, Ella Kolousek, Abby Kolousek, and Kenzie Kolousek were in heat 2, starting out of lane 7 for the girls Class B 4x800 relay.

JV and Junior High Golf Teams Host Meet at Springs Country Club

The next generation of Spartans golf hosted a junior high / junior varsity meet last week drawing 23 teams comprised of students across the region. Originally scheduled to host an additional meet Tuesday, April 30, wet conditions and rain showers moved the next home meet to Friday, May 3.

Varsity Golfers On Par For Successful Season

Last Thursday on their home course in Wessington Springs, the Spartans claimed victory in a seven-team golf meet with a total score of 215. Following with 239, Mt. Vernon/Plankinton secured second place, while Ethan took third with 240.

Track and Field Season Officially Underway: Meet the Spartans

With Mother Nature canceling one of our meets last week, we were able to get another meet added to our schedule by traveling to Avon on Friday, April 12, 2024. Mother Nature made up for it with great track meet weather. Ryder Michalek placed 2nd in the high jump at 5’ 11”.

On Thursday, April 11, 2024, the junior high track team blew down to Corsica to participate in their junior high meet. For the girls, Kaebry Dixon threw the shot put 18’ 8.5”, Tenley Olinger threw it 16’ ‘1.5”, and Baleigh Sails threw it 15’ 7.5”.
