The Woonsocket/ Wessington Springs/ Sanborn Central Blackhawks overcame the Miller/Highmore-Harrold Rustlers 41-0 Friday at Bob Schroeder Field in Miller.
The win catapults the Blackhawks to 4-0. Holden Havlik had 204 yards passing with four touchdowns and an interception.

On Thursday, September 14, 2023, the Spartans traveled to Oacoma to run in the Chamberlain Cross Country Invite. It was a day that I’d describe as a runner’s delight, overcast sky, a little north breeze, and cooler temperatures.

Despite Ongoing Smoky Conditions, Spartans Host 281 Cross Conference Meet

On Wednesday, September 6, 2023, Wessington Springs Country Club was the host site for the 281 Conference Cross-Country Meet. Who would have thought that after four days of temperatures hitting over 100 degrees that we’d have a day of 55 degrees, wind, and fog in between the heat and race day.

On Tuesday, August 29, 2023, the Spartans traveled to Salem to participate in McCook/Montrose Cross-Country Meet. The kids were dealt “unhealthy” conditions to run in as it was hot, humid, and smokey from the Canadian wildfires.

Wessington Springs earned a four-set win over Iroquois/ Lake Preston, by way of 15 kills, 21 digs and 12 blocks by Avery Orth and an added seven kills and three service aces from Carissa Scheel. Raylee Fagerhaug had 20 digs in the win with Alyssa Grohs tallying up 32 assists.
