The Wessington Springs Spartan girls suffered two tough losses over the Holiday Break.On Monday, December 29 the Spartan girls basketball team took on Colman-Egan in the Huron Arena at the Huron Classic. Both teams came into the game with 4-0 records.

Balanced Scoring Fuels Lady Warbirds Through Winter Break

The Wolsey-Wessington Lady Warbirds opened a strong stretch of winter break play with an impressive 55 –34 win over Sully Buttes on December 22, 2025. The team was led offensively by Kendal Uttecht and Shae Uttecht, who each poured in 14 points to pace the Lady Warbirds.

Warbirds Pick Up Key Wins Over Winter Break

The Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds put together a productive winter break stretch, earning a key win over Bennett County before closing the holiday schedule with a victory against Faulkton Area.The Warbirds opened play on December 30 with a strong 65 – 53 victory over Bennett County.

The Wessington Springs Spartans picked up a decisive 70 – 38 win over Highmore-Harrold on Saturday, Jan. 3, closing out winter break play with a strong all-around performance.Wessington Springs was led by Colby Flowers, with a game-high 28 points on an efficient 13-of-15 shooting from the field.
