Dear Editor, My brother Don, his son and family and I stopped in Wessington Springs for a quick visit. Our Mom, Flora Janet Gourley, was born there June 7th, 1922. Her Dad was Archibald Gourley.

I wrote my news Monday morning. Delia Atkinson came to get it later in the forenoon. I enjoyed the ham dinner and peach sauce from the Manor kitchen. Mike Krueger got some groceries for me. At 6:30 p.m. I watched the MN Twins play the NY Yankees. The Twins won 7-0 over the NY Yankees!

I want to put the biggest “IF” I possibly can on this. If you are going to spray your pastures, CRP, etc., fall is the time to do so. There are times when applying herbicide in grasslands is effective on your target species and there are times when all you are doing is taking a match to your money.

I wrote my news Monday morning. Delia Atkinson came to get it late in the forenoon. I enjoyed the hamburger, tator tots and pudding from the Manor kitchen. At 1 p.m. the MN Twins played the Chicago White Sox. It was a close game – Chicago White Sox won 6-5.
