PHOTO AND TEXT BY HEAD CROSS COUNTRY COACH BECKY KRUEGER On Tuesday, August 29, 2023, the Spartans traveled to Salem to participate in McCook/Montrose Cross-Country Meet. The kids were dealt “unhealthy” conditions to run in as it was hot, humid, and smokey from the Canadian wildfires.

Wessington Springs earned a four-set win over Iroquois/ Lake Preston, by way of 15 kills, 21 digs and 12 blocks by Avery Orth and an added seven kills and three service aces from Carissa Scheel. Raylee Fagerhaug had 20 digs in the win with Alyssa Grohs tallying up 32 assists.
