Track And Field Coach Becky Krueger
On Monday, May 4, 2026, the 7/8th graders went to Huron to participate in 281 JH Track and Field Meet. These seven kids represented Wessington Springs extremely well. Josie Arhart threw the shot put 25’ 4.5” bringing home 1st place in shot put and she threw the discus 52’ 2”.

The Wessington Springs Spartans boys golf team captured first place at the Region Golf Tournament held Tuesday in Brookings, earning a trip to the South Dakota State Golf Tournament June 1-2 in Brookings.

On Monday, May 11, 2026, the 7/8th graders traveled to Parkston to participate in their last JH meet of the season. These kids have worked hard all spring and their hard work and dedication to the sport had them ending the competition with some of their personal bests.

Warbird Golfers Turn in Big Week at 281 Tournament

Wolsey-Wessington golfers delivered a strong showing at the 281 Tournament, with standout performances at both the junior high and varsity levels. The junior high team opened competition Wednesday, led by Pepper Moser (shown during golf action in Wessington Springs) who earned a second-place finish.

On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, the Spartans track and field team traveled to Corsica for the Jaguar Invitational.In girls’ field events, Anna Arhart placed second in shot put with a throw of 33’5”, while Josie Arhart threw 22’ 6¾” and Kaycee Scheel 17’3”.

On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, the Spartans competed in the Wagner Relays.Anna Arhart placed second in the shot put (33’ 9”) and threw 88’ 5” in discus.In the 2-mile run, Masynn Mebius ran 15:07.05 and Alexis Roesler 16:15.91.

The American Bank & Trust team secured the Town & Country League championship for the season. Winning both the first and second halves of the season to clinch the title outright, there was no need for a roll-off to determine a champion.
